October 7-9: Hypertherm Associates Highlights Plasma Cutting Solutions for Cast Trimming at Die Casting Congress & Tabletop 2025

Hypertherm Associates, a manufacturer of industrial cutting products and software, will highlight the precision, safety, versatility and cost-effectiveness of its Powermax plasma cutting systems for degating and trimming metal castings at the North American Die Casting Association (NADCA) Die Casting Congress & Tabletop 2025, Oct. 7-9, in booth #311 at the Baird Center in Milwaukee, WI.

Company representatives will be on hand to show NADCA members how Hypertherm Powermax SYNC plasma cutting systems offer a safer, more efficient alternative to traditional trimming and degating. Unlike trim presses, Powermax SYNC requires less capital investment, minimal maintenance, and no time-consuming mold reconfiguration, while also significantly reducing the risk of operator injury.

These systems provide the precision necessary to remove gates, runners and risers with a no-touch operation that eliminates the stress associated with traditional degating methods such as hammering, cutting and grinding. Plasma cutting technology also reduces cycle times, tool wear and secondary operations often required by traditional degating methods.

Additionally, visitors to the Hypertherm booth will learn how Powermax SYNC cartridge technology helps shops overcome work force challenges with technology that automatically adjusts amperage and process settings. In addition, Powermax cartridges simplify consumable changeouts to reduce reliance on skilled operators.

Powermax plasma cutting technology handles a variety of cast materials and thicknesses and allows for easy adjustments and quick changes in the trimming process. It readily integrates into robotic and automated systems and substantially reduces personal injuries like cuts, burns and crush injuries that are often associated with chop saws, band saws, grinders and hammers.
