The DVF Series of simultaneous 5-axis machining centers from DN Solutions are designed for the seamless machining of complex shapes and curved surfaces in a single set-up. The automation-ready DVF 4000 and DVF 5000 Second Generation feature compact dimensions and high-speed spindles, making them suited for the machining of complex, tight tolerance medical components and devices such as implants, surgical instruments, prosthetic components, orthopedic hardware and more.
With compact footprints of 2,750 mm x 2,205 mm (108.3" x 86.8") for the DVF 4000 and 2,795 mm x 2,347 mm (110" x 92.4") for the DVF 5000 Second Generation, even shops with limited floorspace can upgrade their 5-axis machining capabilities. Equipped with high-rigidity, high-speed spindles and robust columnar structured tables, they offer precise surface finishes and facilitate the machining of a wide array of materials, from high-speed aluminum to difficult-to-machine metals like titanium, Inconel and CoCr (cobalt chromium), the company reported.
With a 400 mm (15.75") diameter rotary table, the DVF 4000 is the smallest offering in the DVF machining center line. "It is suited for shops that produce parts for the medical industry and want to move up to the next level of productivity and quality without spending half a million dollars on a CNC machine tool," said a company spokesperson.
The DVF 4000 comes standard with a 15,000 RPM direct coupled spindle powered by a 25 HP (18.5 kW) motor, which generates 86.98 ft-lbs. (117.8 Nm) of torque. A FANUC 31i-B5 Plus control makes full 5-axis simultaneous control possible, granting complete contouring capabilities.
The DVF 5000 Second Generation, the latest member of DN's family of simultaneous 5-axis VMCs, now features a larger 630 mm (24.8") table and a 20,000 RPM spindle, elevating its versatility and performance. The DVF 5000 Second Generation offers users the flexibility to select controls from FANUC and SIEMENS, each equipped with cutting-edge technology.
All DVF 5-axis machining centers are automation-ready for lights-out machining. Plug & play multipallet automation options from DN Solutions include single machine compact Automatic Work Changers (AWC) and Rotary Pallet Systems (RPS), as well as Linear Pallet Systems (LPS) that can feed multiple DVF machining centers. Tool magazines can be upgraded to hold up to 120 tools, increasing flexibility for high-mix, low-volume production.
