Miller Returns to CXM As Director of Sales and Marketing

Jim Miller

Tramec, LLC has announced the return of Jim Miller as the new Director of Sales and Marketing for Chicago Extruded Metals (CXM), following Tramec's acquisition of CXM's operating assets from Berkshire Investments, LLC in November 2024. Miller's appointment marks a significant step forward in CXM's ongoing transformation, as his return brings a wealth of industry experience and a renewed commitment to customer satisfaction and operational excellence.

"It is great to have Jim back with CXM. His experience with the company and deep understanding of the industry make him an invaluable asset as we move forward under Tramec's ownership," said Mark Holm, Chief Commercial Officer of Tramec, LLC. "Jim's leadership will be crucial in revitalizing CXM's operations and reinforcing the commitment to customer service at CXM."

Miller's journey with CXM began in 1989 when he joined the company's extrusion department straight out of high school. Over the years, he grew his expertise in manufacturing, working in areas such as hot forming, cold drawing and managing key production departments. His consultative approach and technical expertise have made him a trusted resource in industries like potable water and machining.

As Director of Sales and Marketing, Miller will focus on driving CXM's growth by leveraging his industry knowledge and strong relationships. His leadership will be key in reinforcing CXM's commitment to high-quality alloys, custom extrusions and excellent customer service.

Since its acquisition by Tramec in November 2024, CXM has been undergoing strategic improvements aimed at enhancing its manufacturing capabilities. Founded in 1923, CXM has a long history of leadership in the recycling of brass materials and a reputation for delivering reliable products to industries such as automotive, aerospace and electronics. Tramec's commitment to CXM includes key investments in manufacturing upgrades to ensure greater production and delivery reliability.

"Our focus is to continue doing the good things that our customers expect-such as delivering high-quality bar profile shapes, custom alloys and flexible minimum order quantities," said Holm. "With Jim leading our sales and marketing efforts, we are excited to strengthen our relationships with both current customers and those who may have been dissatisfied in the past."

"I am thrilled to return to CXM and contribute to the continuation of the company's legacy," said Miller. "We have an outstanding team here, and I am confident that by focusing on customer relationships and technical support, we can provide unique, high-quality solutions for the precision machined components industry. I am excited for the opportunities ahead."
