Chevalier Machinery Inc. has introduced the FCL-130RP, the latest evolution in its high-precision CNC lathes designed for small-part automation. The FCL-130RP is engineered to meet the rising demand for space-efficient, automated and high-speed turning solutions across industries.

With a machine length of 70.9" (1,802 mm), the FCL-130RP is designed to optimize floor space-making it suited for tightly packed production lines or flexible plant layouts. Its 30° slant bed offers high rigidity, greater chip removal and long-term machining stability, the company reported.

Integrated with a 2-axis gantry robot, the FCL-130RP enables fully automated part handling. Features include:

  • Rapid 5.5-second workpiece swapping to minimize cycle times
  • Parallel-type grippers for simultaneously loading and unloading operations
  • Intuitive set-up for diverse workpieces requiring only three input values
  • Integrated workpiece counter for precise job tracking and management.

The automated system can handle parts up to 3.15" (O80 mm) in diameter, 3.94" (100 mm) in length and 6.6 lbs. (3 kg) in weight, providing versatile automation for a wide range of small- to medium-sized components.

Features of the FCL-130RP:

  • Max. cutting diameter: 9.29" (O236 mm)
  • Max. cutting length: 9.17" (233 mm)
  • Spindle speed: Up to 6,000 RPM
  • Spindle motor: 5/7.4 HP (3.7/5.5 kW)
  • Eight-tool hydraulic turret with 0.25-second indexing speed.

Equipped with roller-type linear guideways and high-precision 3.15" (O80 mm) spindle bearings, the FCL-130RP offers smooth, accurate and vibration-free cutting at high speeds.

Operators benefit from an intuitive graphical user interface for the robot system, alongside controller options like FANUC and Mitsubishi offering features like:

  • 3D machining simulation
  • Manual guide i and SHOPTURN options.

Standard equipment includes a 6" hydraulic chuck, toolholders, soft and hard jaws, a moveable coolant tank and more. Optional accessories like an automatic door, tool setter, parts catcher and oil-mist collector enhance functionality and workflow integration.
