Marposs Optoflash optical and Quick Set contact gauging systems with cobot load and unload
Marposs has created an automated gauging station using a FANUC cobot to load and unload a shaft-type component to the Optoflash S200 optical measurement system and the Quick Set contact gauging system. Each measurement system makes dimensional checks as the cobot moves the workpiece between the two systems.
Optoflash is a flexible optical measurement and inspection solution for small-size shafts, fasteners and other components manufactured for the automotive, aerospace and medical industries. It uses a combination of 2D optical sensors and a precision motor for part rotation, enabling it to perform 100 static measurements within 2 seconds. Optoflash achieves radial and axial measurement with the part in rotation, performing perfect axial TIR through optical acquisition, and automatically validating the compliance of a part across its external surface, checking dimension, position and form, the company reported.
Quick Set is a retoolable modular system that can be assembled in different configurations to accommodate a variety of part types. Its design concept offers high flexibility and quick retooling, using shop floor components available off the shelf. Several measuring assemblies can be mounted on the base to carry on diameter, distance and geometric measurements.
Part support options allow static as well as dynamic inspection. It is compatible with measuring gauges with a clamping diameter of 8 mm or 3/8", such as Red Crown2, TD dial indicators or Quick Digit digital indicators.
