
ANDRITZ Schuler Joint Service Workshop

ANDRITZ Schuler Inc. and ANDRITZ BCN Inc., subsidiaries of the ANDRITZ Schuler Group, recently hosted a joint Service Workshop tailored specifically for shared customers. The event attracted senior leaders, directors and engineers from major OEM and Tier 1 suppliers.
"The Service Workshop showcased our recently expanded range of products and services since fully integrating with ANDRITZ and operating as ANDRITZ Schuler," explained Kevin McAllister, President of North America. "This strategic integration opens many doors for our customers, as we now have an even larger global footprint to increase our availability and create growth that matters."
McAllister, together with Carlos Valdes, Managing Director of ANDRITZ BCN, and Telvi Zanin, VP of Service, opened the workshop with a live press conference.
Session topics included:
- Retrofits and modernization solutions: Case studies were presented to address obsolete parts and explain how control upgrades and modernizations maximize production capabilities.
- Service made for you: Field service, welding repair and inspections were highlighted as service offerings that support predictive maintenance and emergency repairs.
- Reduce downtime and costs with spare parts: Critical parts, key support personnel and strategic planning insights were shared to help prevent unforeseen downtimes.
- Shop floor tour: Attendees toured the 32,000 sq. ft. Michigan Ave. Service Facility and saw the 50-, 10- and 5-ton cranes, in-house press pit, specialized equipment and digital products show room.
- Get proactive with service agreements and training: Maintenance, remote service, spare parts, safety checks, inspections and data safe solutions were presented along with custom training support.
- Automation and digitalization: In-house automation solutions and Metris digital tools that optimize production processes, increase productivity and improve part quality was another focus area. Tier 1 customer, Schaeffler, was a guest speaker and shared their experience with ANDRITZ Schuler's Visual Die Protection (VDP) system, a camera-based monitoring system designed to protect dies, prevent damages and provide an immediate ROI.
"Our localization growth strategy is centered around working together with our customers," said Zanin. "The workshop demonstrated our customer-driven innovations and created an effective roadmap to help our customers increase the efficiency of their press shops."
