Modular Drilling System

Ingersoll Cutting Tools has introduced GoldTwin, a modular drilling system that is available in a wide range of diameters and depths.
Features and benefits:
- Inch and metric specific diameters available with modular head
- One head can be used for various drilling depths (3xD, 5xD and 7xD)
- Increased feedrates achieved with two-effective pocket design
- Dedicated guide pads improve stability during machining
- Extended length, universal flat shank includes cut-off notch for stationary applications
- Inch bodies include side coolant port for lathe applications
- Coolant through for improved chip evacuation
- Heads include four coolant holes directed at the cutting edge, improving chip evacuation and extending tool life
- Modular design reduces inventory.
Tips/inserts features include:
- SPGX-WG (wiper) insert allows for improved surface finishes
- TPC-C self-centering geometry allows for improved straightness
- TPC-C and SPGX (wiper) grade IN2505 (PVD TiAlN/TiN) for extended tool life and performance.
