Joint Mazak, Premier Engineering Open House June 4-5

A co-hosted event, the Mazak Corporation and Premier Engineering's DISCOVER MORE WITH MAZAK Florida Open House will focus on the latest manufacturing and automation technology specifically for aerospace, medical, space exploration, defense/marine defense and other area industry component production. The event takes place June 4-5, 2025, from 10 AM to 6 PM each day at the Mazak Technical Center located in Orlando, FL.

The event coincides with Mazak's recent announcement that long-time partner Premier Engineering LLC has expanded its territory to now include Florida and will be operating out of the Mazak Florida Technical Center. This will allow Mazak and Premier Engineering to further strengthen their business agility and responsiveness to the needs of manufacturers in the region.

At the joint event, the companies will demonstrate machines and automation processing real-world part applications. Those demonstrations will involve Mazak's QT-Ez 10MY Turning Center paired with EzLOADER automation, an HCN-4000 NEO HMC with optional 60-tool capacity, an INTEGREX i-150 Multi-Tasking Machine and a SYNCREX 12/8 Swiss-style machine.

The QT-Ez 10MY features a milling spindle and Y-axis off-centerline capability for Multi-Tasking part processing. As a model in the Kentucky-built Ez Series, the automation-ready machine provides affordable access to Mazak technology and features the MAZATROL SmoothEz control along with a 10" chuck as well as an 8" chuck option.

Mazak will show the QT-Ez 10MY outfitted with the company's EzLOADER automation that helps manufacturers overcome shortages in skilled labor and keep up with ever increasing production demands. The system incorporates a stand-alone, plug & play cobot that uses a pallet, a programmable logic controller and all necessary equipment for hassle-free machine integration.

The new Mazak HCN-4000 NEO with 18,000-RPM, 47-HP spindle and Renishaw RMP600QE radio work measuring system will showcase its spacious work envelope, generous pallet size, fast rapid traverse rates and rigid, reliable spindle-all for maximum productivity with virtually any workpiece material, the company noted.

In addition to the machine's standard two-pallet changer, Mazak's pre-engineered modular designs allow for an optional 6-pallet changer as well as the company's PALLETECH or MULTI PALLET POOL (MPP) system and external robot that can be field installed at a later time for unattended operations. Larger, space-saving tool magazine options are available at the time of machine order, including 80, 120 or 160-tool magazines, or a TOOL HIVE with 240 or 348 tools.

Attendees will experience the benefits of that technology with the INTEGREX i-150. The machine provides the versatility of single set-up, full 5-axis Multi-Tasking in a spacious work envelope, yet requires minimal floor space. Featuring a 72-tool magazine with a Capto connection, this machine has a 5,000-RPM turning spindle, 12,000-RPM, 15 HP B-axis milling spindle (0.0001° indexing increments) and +/- 3.94" Y-axis stroke, the INTEGREX i-150 efficiently turns and mills parts from raw bar stock up to 2.56" in diameter.

For those manufacturers producing large quantities of small, high-precision parts, Mazak's SYNCREX 12/8 will demonstrate the production power of Swiss-style turning on an 8-axis machine that handles a maximum turning diameter of 0.4724" (12 mm) and provides for up to 27 tools to 19 static and 8 live. The machine is equipped with the MAZATROL SmoothSt CNC that incorporates Mazak's Swiss Setup Assist (MSSA) for fast and easy job setups and Mazak Dynamic Chip Control (MDCC) functionality. For further ease of use, the MAZATROL SmoothSt CNC functions include tool touch off, part cut off, retract point and start position. The CNC also allows for synchronous control of all axes, including the ability to simultaneously turn and drill along with rigid tapping with all spindles.
