Northrop Grumman Corporation has opened a new state-of-the-art integration center in Madison, AL, in support of the United States Army's accelerated modernization plan for air and missile defense. The new Enhanced Production and Integration Center (EPIC) builds on the company's ability to scale production and manufacture critical capabilities at speed, expanding capacity for high rate production programs.
The new facility will manage component integration for the Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS). With this expansion, production capacity for the ready-now IBCS command and control system can increase up to 96 Engagement Operation Centers, 96 Integrated Collaborative Environments and 192 Integrated Fire Control Network relays each year.
EPIC features more than 129,500 sq. ft. of flexible production space and totals 175,500 sq. ft. of covered production space. The facility also has 35,000 sq. ft. of office space and can accommodate over several hundred employees, growing Northrop Grumman's economic impact in Alabama.
Kenn Todorov, Vice President and General Manager, Command and Control & Weapons Integration, Northrop Grumman, said: "Our investment in American manufacturing with this new facility enables us to continue supporting critical modernization efforts such as producing capabilities like IBCS at scale and speed. With this investment, we are doubling our integration space and significantly enhancing our storage and classified testing capabilities, ensuring America leads the world in military strength."
EPIC doubles the size of the previous center and will integrate technological and digital advancements to drive innovation. This addition grows the company's fully digital approach to streamlining the design and build process.
