Jorgensen Conveyor and Filtration Solutions offers the ER20T Eco Briquette Press that uses hydraulic pressure to condense chips while pushing out residual cutting fluid. The ER20T is part of Jorgensen's Eco Series of cost-effective chip processing solutions that contribute to overall sustainable manufacturing operations.
Jorgensen Eco Briquetters save space by reducing scrap size while reducing disposal, transportation and storage costs. The ER20T is equipped with a feed screw hydraulic drive and designed for continuous use. The unit comes with a hopper level sensor, air filter and return filter and an automatic start/stop via laser detection in the hopper. Due to its simple, robust construction, the ER20T is easy to maintain and provides a short return on investment, the company reported.
Metal briquettes can be used directly in re-smelting or sold to recyclers at an increased value versus loose chips, and are effective for steel, aluminum, titanium, brass, cast iron and grinding sludges. The ER20T handles up to 44 lbs./hour of aluminum and 110 lbs./hour of steel.
The ER20T is one of three Eco Briquette Press options available, and Jorgensen offers four additional premium metal briquette machine options for heavier loads and volumes. All models can be combined with the company's other chip processing equipment such as shredders and wringers/centrifuges, hoppers, feeders and conveyors to provide manufacturers with a completely automated chip handling system. With such a fully integrated system that transports, shreds, wrings and briquettes chips and sludge, manufacturers can reduce chip volumes by as much as 90% and significantly increase their chip recycling value, the company reported.
