The Smarter, Faster Way to Create Custom Shadow Foam

With the Photo Scan It kit and a smartphone, users can capture a full tool layout with photos and order their own custom-made Shadow Foam.

Two-color Shadow Foam encourages organization by highlighting missing tools.

The new Photo Scan It kit from Kaiser Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» is designed as an easy way to create professional-grade Shadow Foam for the toolbox or workstation. Photo Scan It fills the need for a custom solution that is superior to hand-cut tool foam in function and appearance, the company reported.

With the Photo Scan It kit, a smartphone or other camera and an internet connection, users can quickly "photo scan" a complete set of tools and upload the images to order their own custom-made drawer inserts from Kaiser Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³».

The kit includes a specially designed scanning mat (24" x 38"), a set of four calibration gauges in sample foam and a scanning tutorial. Photo Scan It eliminates the problem of lens distortion that has prevented accurate camera-based scanning until now.

The kit makes it convenient for customers to scan tool layouts in their own shop. No need to ship tools out, download or license software or buy expensive equipment. It also saves engineering time compared to designing tool trays in house, and the finished product is more professional and durable than hand-cut foam, according to the company.

After completing photos of the tool layout, customers choose their preferred Shadow Foam color-charcoal over red, blue or yellow. The material is durable, closed-cell polyethylene with a smooth surface finish. It is dust-free, repels water, oils and solvents, and can be cleaned. It is suited for lean manufacturing environments, 5S programs and for FOD prevention.

Two-color Shadow Foam encourages organization by highlighting missing tools. Visual inventory checks are quick, and tool loss is minimized. Save time searching for the next tool and save money buying fewer replacement tools.
